Hello! My name is Goh Erlia
GET TO KNOW ME:
My name is Goh Erlia and i am a student in Temasek Polytechnic Interior Architecture & Design. Growing up i have always admired the design of buildings and spaces which lead me to joining this course to further pursue my passion and increase my understanding on the process of design.
The few years in this course have given me a valuable experience working on different projects, real clients as well as joining competitions. I have also revived countless opportunities to learn different design strategies and perspectives, as well as acquire new skills mainly in the necessary software for this field of work.
Outside of the design course, I have multiple work experiences in the Food & Beverages sector. Though working a part-time job on the weekends can feel like a chore for some, I think of it as an escape from school work and design and a time to reset or clear my mind so that I can focus better when I continue my school work.
I believe that through my work experience does not relate to architecture or design, it has given me the opportunity to gather some qualities such as communication skills, being good a team player as well as how to think and work under pressure.

Nature Hideout
DISCRIPTION:
A two-level hangout spot located in the middle of a natural setting. Inspired by the works and practices of world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, the building design aims to showcase the beauty of low-lying buildings which hides the large open spaces within. Using natural material and including greenery throughout the space.
PROJECT:
Year 1 Semester 1
- 30x30 Form exploration
MATERIAL USED:
Mixed media
Clay Cavern
DESCRIPTION:
The project was made for a client whose profession is pottery. As such, the design focuses on the flow of pottery and how it is made. It provides the experience of flowy movement by curves which mimics the movement seen in pottery. With each space and element being both a decorative art piece whiles serving a purpose. Both young and old are able to experience the fluidity of the space and explore through levels through the use of the repetition of curved elements which promotes movement. Contrast through the play of heights removes the need for conventional walls which would hinder the fluidity of the interior space which now melts into one another.
This was also the project where we first learn how to create a storyboard to capture or design in a concise and attractive way for presentation.
PROJECT: Year 1 Semester 2 - Studio Project SOFTWARE USED: Photoshop MATERIALS USED: Foam Board, acrylic, craft board

DESCRIPTION:
A two-level arena with a rustic abandoned feel. made to feel like part of an abandoned castle in the middle of a nature setting. This was done as an assignment for 3ds max module . The use of gree architecture along with the overgrowth of greenary gives the illusion of an ancient space. The rustic metal staircase railing gives a strong contras and draws the eye towards the central fountain.
PROJECT:
Year 2 Semester 1
- Digital visualisation
SOFTWARE USED:

Abandoned Palace
DESCRIPTION:
This was a collaboration with the Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Center to create a booth for their pop-up Zero-market. The idea was to create a unique and multifunctional, collapsable store unit to be used within the space. To match the structure of their existing concept and values into the booth as well as make it feasible to create in real life.
My final design aimed to be multifunctional and have minimal assembly so that it can be used beyond the market. e.g. as a study area. By using sustainable material and a neutral colour palate, the unit also relates back to the aesthetics and values of the client.
PROJECT: Year 2 Semester 1 - Studio Project SOFTWARE USED: 3DS Max & Photoshop
Tzu Chi - Zero Market
